Every two years the United States Department of Energy hosts an international collegiate competition called the “Solar Decathlon.” The Competition challenges 20 collegiate teams to design, build, and operate solar-powered houses that are cost-effective, energy-efficient, and attractive.
This year, Appalachian State University entered their Solar Homestead sustainable home design in that competition and won the people's choice award. ASU also won second place in the Communications Contest and third place in the Architecture Contest..
Tune in to learn more about that winning effort as three of the team members and a faculty advisor take your questions and comments.
