The Energy Star label was created so that consumers could easily identify the most energy efficient products. And while the Energy Star label is earned only by products which meet rigorous standards of efficiency, performance and functionality, many consumers are reluctant to purchase these higher priced products. Hence the Energy Star Product Rebate Program was created to encourage the production and purchase of “energy smart” products.
